The KNA and WCC is Sponsoring a Writing Contest with the Prize a Scholarship to the 2011 ANA Summer Seminar
The Kansas Numismatic Association is sponsoring a writing contest open to current KNA members. The winner of the contest will receive a scholarship to attend one week of classes at the 2011 ANA Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The value of this prize is approximately $1400.00. The contest consists of writing an article on some area of Numismatics and submitting it to a three member committee for review. The three member committee will determine the winner of the contest. The winning article will then be part of an up coming “Across The Plains” edition. Rules of the contest:
- Open to all KNA members 18 years and older that has their dues current on 7/1/2011.
- Submission deadline is January 15, 2012 for three copies of the Application and Article.
- Only one submission per member.
- The prize is not transferable and is only valid for the Summer 2012 ANA Seminar.
- The winner provides his or her transportation to and from the Summer Seminar. The KNA will provide a $100 stipend to help with transportation costs.
- Winner of the contest will be announced in February 2011.
- An alternate winner will be chosen incase the winner is unable to attend the 2011 ANA Summer Seminar.
- After the ANA Summer Seminar, the winner prepares a report suitable for publication in “Across The Plains” giving the highlights of their ANA Summer Seminar experience.
How to Enter:
- Complete the Application Form. (View/Print Application Form)
- Prepare an original article suitable for publishing in KNA Newsletter “Across The Plains” in an area of Numismatics. Limit the article to 1000 words and three pictures.
- Mail both Application and Article to Mark Ross by January 15, 2012.
